- Raw Material
Veneta Trafili SpA uses 8 mm ETP 1 – Electrolytic Tough-Pitch – copper rod. The wire rod is reduced in the break-down machines, with continuous annealer and static basket coilers, for finished diameters of 1.23 ÷ 2.00 mm. These wires are then re-drawn and annealed down to the smallest diameters in the multiwire drawing machines, for a finished diameter range of 0.15 ÷ 0.50 mm.
- Drawing machines
At the beginning of 1980 Veneta Trafili SpA started using multiwire drawing machines from 8 up to 12 individual wires simultaneously.
In the last ten years, Veneta Trafili SpA has been investing in multiwire drawing systems with 28, 32, 40 and 48 wires simultaneously drawn.
- Productivity
With the acquisition of the multiwire drawing system with 32, 40 and 48 wires, Veneta Trafili has achieved higher production and efficiency.
This enables us to produce, on the same system, a wide range of high quality multiwire wound up onto single balanced spools of different types, thus meeting at best our customers' requirements.
Today, the multiwire output of the company is 50,000 tons/year.
- Die shop
Veneta Trafili gives special attention to the quality and performance of the wire drawing dies used in its multiwire drawing machines.
In its die shop, skilled people and respective up-to-date die working equipment ensure a constant quality control and maintenance of the drawing dies.
Each set of dies is changed periodically and the finish-dies, which have very narrow tolerance, are constantly verified by a microscope and controlled by means of a diameter measuring Laser unit.
